PVDF is poorly soluble or generally insoluble in many organic solvents, dimethylformamide, ketones. It has a lower density than PTFE, but higher density compared to other high-temperature plastics. PVDF-purpose is construction material for the manufacture of products, operating up to + 150 ° C in a hostile environment or radiation.

PVDF sheets are recommended for use (including as replacement of PTFE ) at a combination of the following factors:

• item includes operation under the influence of strong corrosive substances,
• and the operating temperature does not exceed + 150 ° C
• and this requires good sliding and wear resistance.

PVDF sheets are also recommended for use in the combination of the following conditions:

• operation under the influence of high-energy radiation (radiation), as well as
• requirements for hydrolysis resistance,
• good mechanical properties, but the operating temperature does not exceed + 150 ° C.
