PTFE O Ring
PTFE O Ring is mainly used for static sealing application in pipes, cylinders, bushings, stems, flanges and connections. Where chemical and physical inertia, as well as resistance to friction, temperature and ageing, are particularly strategic.
Backup rings are not seals themselves, but are used in conjunction with O-rings or other seals in high-pressure applications. Backup rings are installed in the downstream side of the gland, however, can be installed either side of the O-ring to give a high-performance double-acting seal.
Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) is a high molecular weight polymer, one of the most versatile plastic materials known and useful for a large range of products for applications excluded from other materials. Teflon o-rings are known for high heat resistance, high resistance to chemical agents and solvents, anti-adhesiveness, dielectric properties, low friction coefficient, and non-toxicity.
